Excited for Rainbow Six Siege? Like multi-player? Great! The latest entry in the Rainbow Six franchise will not have a single player campaign! Wait, you really enjoyed the single player campaign in the past games? Well, I guess Ubisoft doesn’t think most care about a single player campaign.
While speaking at EGX 2015, Scott Mitchell who is the Art Director for the game stated “There is no story mode per se. You go through training, where you get to experience different operators and their devices. You can play against enemy AI in co-op through all the maps. You can customize matches, so that’s what we’re offering on the single-player side of things.”
He continued by adding “It’s a pretty good training ground, and on top or that you’re unlocking the same content as you would playing in PvP. You’re still gaining stars, renown points, and new operatives”
Rainbow Six Siege will be releasing up to 11 maps to download over time. Yet, no single player campaign may keep long time fans away from this title. Dropping single player campaigns has been a growing trend in the Triple-A FPS genre for a bit now. Games like Evolve, and Titanfall have no single player component other than a training stage. Yesterday it was revealed that the last gen console versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will not contain a single player campaign at all. Read more about that HERE.
Rainbow Six Siege is set to release in North America December 1st. So, do you mind not having a single player campaign? Let me know in the comments.
