Nintendo 2DS Price Drop Incoming

Nintendo has announced today via a press statement that the Nintendo 2DS will receive a price drop this August 30th to $100. It originally sold for $130 in most locations within the United States. The Nintendo 2DS that includes Mario Kart 7 digitally installed has not been included in this statement. So, if you were in the market for a 2DS it is best to hold off until after August 30th.
In a statement the Nintendo marketing executive Scott Moffitt said “The new lower-priced hardware combined with the strong lineup of new games launching this year and arguably the best library of games in this generation makes it a great time to be a Nintendo fan,”
The Nintendo 2DS was released in October 2013. It plays almost the entire library of Nintendo 3DS games, but of course without the 3D effect. The system was specifically designed for younger players, and therefore removed the hinges the other models have.
