PlayStation 4 owners have been sharing concerns that games are being added to their games library without permission. One game in particular is the sole culprit. That game is Destiny: The Taken King. If this has happened to you, it is not a hack or anything like that. It is all apart of a joint promotional effort by PlayStation, and Bungie to get Destiny on more PlayStation 4 systems. Clicking on Destiny in your library will give you the option to download a demo, or of course give you the option to buy the game.
The PlayStation 4 is designed to give games personalized curated content via automatic downloads. According to the PlayStation website “The PS4 system has the ability to learn about your preferences. It will learn your likes and dislikes, allowing you to discover content pre-loaded and ready to go on your console in your favorite game genres or by your favorite creators.”
You can opt out of this by un-checking “Featured Content” from the Automatic Downloads menu of the System Settings. According to reports, not everyone is getting Destiny in their Games Library, but it is happening more often. So, if you don’t want to be offered Destiny, or other games make sure you opt out of this promotional function.
