Just a few more months to go.
Insomniac’s upcoming reimagining of the original Ratchet & Clank for PlayStation 4 will launch on April 12, 2016, the developer announced today during the PlayStation Experience keynote address.
That’s just a couple weeks before the animated Ratchet & Clank movie, which boasts a pretty impressive voice cast, arrives on April 29. The new game is partially based on the movie.
Insomniac also released a new gameplay trailer for Ratchet & Clank today during the presentation. Check it out above.
Ratchet & Clank for PS4 runs at 1080p/30fps and is expected to be 10-12 hours. It’s also a budget-priced game, available for $40 instead of $60.
In addition to the much-improved visuals, Ratchet & Clank will feature new planets, bosses, and weapons, as well as a modernized control scheme. These weapons consist of both brand-new weapons and some returning from the Ratchet & Clank Future games, such as the Groovitron that forces nearby characters to dance. Also making a return here is the Bouncer weapon from Going Commando, but you’ll need to preorder the game in order to get your hands on that.
